New Type of Malaria Mosquitoes Found

THE French scientist has found a new mosquito species in Africa that has never been recorded before.
Mosquito Anopheles gambiae subtypes are feared to carry malaria parasites are more dangerous than malaria has ever seen.
When collecting the mosquitoes in a village near the Burkina Faso, west Africa, they found a new mosquito, different types with their previously arrested. And outside the home.
After undergoing lab tests, they identified a mosquito called 'Goundry' is susceptible to malaria parasite infection, and likes being outdoors (outdoor).
"They are very susceptible to human malaria parasites, we know they are from species that have a tendency closely with human blood, and their population so much," said Ken Vernick, a French scientist Host Unit, Vector, and Pathogens at the National Center for Scientific Research France in Paris, Thursday (3 / 2).
Goundry life that always circulate outside the room showed that this mosquito may be fairly young in terms of evolution, said Vernick, and even may have evolved as a subtype outdoors is a way to resist or avoid efforts such as spraying insecticides indoors.
Although stating the researchers have not been able to calculate the impact of malaria caused by mosquito subtypes of this new type, they are worried about the results may be even greater.
The spread of malaria mosquito Anopheles has threatened half the world's population. The victims mostly children under five years of poor countries of Sub-Saharan Africa.
A recent report the World Health Organization (WHO) said prevention against the disease has progressed the last few years, able to suppress the number of deaths to 781 thousand in 2009 from nearly one million inhabitants in 2000.
